How Do I Use Animations In My E-mail?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions from our first time visitors. There are several different email programs out there, and each one handles it differently. Our best advice is to read the instructions that come with your e-mail software.
A few tips to consider:
- If you want the animation to show up directly in the body of the message, you must be composing your message in HTML (or rich text) format. You cannot send images within the body of your e-mail if you are sending plain text messages only. Some e-mail programs do not support HTML messages.
- You can always send an image as an attachment, without changing the format of your message.
- We highly recommend downloading the animations from our site first, and then use them with your e-mail.
Below are tips on using two of the most popular e-mail programs (Microsoft Outlook Express, and Netscape Messenger)
Outlook Express (we used version 4):
- Change the format of your message to Rich Text (HTML)
- Press 'Insert Image' icon to choose the image to use.
Netscape Messenger (we used version 4):
- Make sure you are using the HTML editor to compose your message. Located under preferences/mail&newsgroups/formatting

- Choose 'Insert/Image...' to choose the animation you would like to display.
That's it! We hope this helps get you started sending the fun images from the Animation Factory.
